Program Officer - Arts & Music

We have been retained by a newly created growing Family Foundation in their search for a dynamic, strategic leader to serve as a Program Manager for it's Arts & Music area of giving. 

The Arts program strives to actively ensure Music, Dance and Arts programs can sustain long term. The Program Officer will help develop and shape the Foundation's Art's program strategy, develop grant portfolios and related activities, and participate as a thought-leader on issues related to the program in various public and private settings.

The ideal Program Officer should have extensive knowledge and experience in giving in the areas of Music, Dance, Performing Arts, Fine Arts, etc. They should have strong relationships with potential grantees and the ability to research, and find new organizations that can benefit from the foundations giving.  A deep understanding and ability to analyze potential grantees for long term stability.  The ideal candidate would be able to help the Foundation anticipate or envision how the program may evolve in the future – with knowledge of and experience with methods of strategic foresight – to help shape how a major Foundation can contribute to better outcomes for the future.

Experience in Music preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Arts related field required. Master's Degree preferred.
4+ years managing a program giving in the area. 
Ability to speak in public and private forums. 
Excellent research and analytical skills.
