Assistant Project Manager - Rail

We are seeking a talented Assistant Project Manager – with Rail experience to support the Palmdale-Burbank project of the California High-Speed Rail program. The system will connect the 500-mile stretch between the Los Angeles region with the San Francisco Bay Area, with up to 24 stations.
This role is for the Los Angeles area, Sacramento or can be remote. Must have the ability to work in the West Coast time zone. 

ABOUT THE COMPANY

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager in the management of the project section through the environmental approval process and preliminary engineering (15%) for project definition. They will also support the Project Manager in managing the regional consultant, responsible for quality, on-time delivery of environmental clearance documents and preliminary engineering.
Essential Job Duties:
• Assists in managing scope, cost, schedule, and budget.
• Ensures quality consultant deliverables, with the project manager.
• Coordinates and attends meetings with local agencies and third parties.
• Supports the project manager in developing reports and presentations.
• Supports the project manager in conducting research, analyses, identifying issues, recommending solutions, identifying, and mitigating project risks.
Position Requirements:
• Knowledge of various phases and functional responsibility of rail project development and delivery.
• Knowledge of federal and state contracting laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience in project management and managing multi-discipline teams to meet project milestones.
• Good knowledge of project management of tunneling projects.
Preferred Qualifications – The ideal candidate will additionally possess the following (preferred, but not required):
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Ten (10) years of experience with transportation projects and disciplines.

Primary Work Location:
• Sacramento, or Los Angeles, or Remote

Compensation for this role is depending on experience and will be in the approximate range of $115,000 to $195,000.
