The Technical Writer/Analyst will support rail and transit projects by managing the editorial and publication process of various deliverables, creating compelling, audience-specific documents, and ensuring high-quality standards in technical documentation. This role requires the ability to transform complex technical information into clear, accessible content for diverse audiences, including the public, regulatory authorities, and clients.

Focusing in the Utilities, Oil, Gas, Water and other Large Construction Projects, their Project Controls Professionals have worked on some of the largest Capital Construction Projects throughout the US.

The Technical Writer/Analyst Key Responsibilities:
- Editorial Management: Lead the editorial and publication process for project deliverables, acting as a key liaison between technical authors, graphic designers, and editors.
- Document Preparation: Write, edit, and format documents, including technical memoranda, multi-volume reports, and client-facing proposals, maintaining high standards of readability and accuracy.
- Reporting: Generate regular dashboards and reports (weekly/monthly) to update stakeholders on project status and progress.
- Project Planning: Contribute to pre-planning by developing document production schedules and project-specific style guides.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to company editorial standards and provide quality control as lead editor for large projects.
- Client Interaction: Interface with clients on projects with substantial editorial components, ensuring alignment with client standards and requirements.
- Standardization Efforts: Participate in company-wide initiatives to develop and maintain editorial conventions, including style guides and report formats.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in writing and editing transportation-related documents, including project reports, environmental assessments, policies, board resolutions, and governance approvals.
- Proficiency in graphic design applications such as PowerPoint and/or Visio.
- Ability to work independently and present complex information in a format that is easily understood by varied audiences.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced command of English, with exceptional writing, editing, and grammar skills.
- Experience in translating technical language for broader audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word (Track Changes, Styles), Excel, and Adobe InDesign.
- Familiarity with industry and in-house/client style guides.
- Knowledge of 508 compliance.
- Experience working with public, state, and federal organizations, particularly on large infrastructure projects.
Approximate salary range is $90,000 to $120,000
