Flavor Samples Technician

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate Flavor Samples Technician to support the preparation, organization, and management of flavor samples for our R&D team. This individual will work cross-functionally to ensure accuracy and consistency in flavor compounding while contributing to exciting new product development initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare flavor samples following specific formulas and guidelines with accuracy and consistency
  • Maintain and restock organized inventories of raw materials and flavor libraries
  • Accurately document sample preparation methods, results, and adjustments
  • Collaborate with R&D scientists, flavorists, and other departments to support testing and formulation efforts
  • Perform sensory evaluations and quality checks to ensure all samples meet required standards
  • Operate and maintain lab equipment, ensuring proper calibration and cleanliness
  • Follow safety and regulatory protocols to maintain a compliant laboratory environment
  • Assist in scale-up projects for flavor manufacturing
  • Enter sample data into Sage X3 and Product Vision systems
  • Prioritize tasks efficiently to meet project deadlines
  • Support new product development efforts through testing and formulation
  • Demonstrate and uphold company values and report food safety issues appropriately

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or related field
  • Basic understanding of flavor chemistry and sensory principles
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to precise protocols
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software
Preferred:
  • Internship or coursework related to flavor technology or product development
  • Familiarity with lab equipment and analytical techniques
  • Passion for food and flavor innovation
  • Experience with sensory evaluation and statistical analysis
  • Hands-on experience with Sage X3 and Product Vision

Measures of Performance

Performance will be evaluated based on the timely and accurate completion of job responsibilities, adherence to company policies, progress on established goals, and demonstration of company core competencies.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds
  • Exposure to allergens (e.g., dairy, food colorings)
  • Office and lab work environment with occasional visits to production areas with odors, fumes, and noise
  • Must wear appropriate PPE, including non-slip steel-toe shoes, hairnets, and lab coats on the production floor

Salary -$22.00 - $24.50 per hour as well as excellent benefits.
