Engineering Manager

We’re seeking a self-starting, innovative and collaboration-focused Software Engineering Manager to help architect, build and improve the apps that our clients depend on daily.

This is a hybrid working role, which will entail both working from home (WFH) and commuting to the NYC office from time to time.

  • Develop, inspire, mentor, and evaluate the engineering team
  • Lead and align engineering team with the company’s vision
  • Partner with Product to prioritize and delegate tasks to the team
  • Participate in Cost Benefit Analysis for new product delivery and support build vs buy decision process for product and key services
  • Hire qualified candidates to strengthen company and team
  • Train and ramp-up new team members
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching
  • Implement best practices in architecture for development and design
  • Drive technical roadmap and direction in partnership with Engineering leadership
  • Create positive team culture (e.g. curious, mutually challenging, collaborative)
  • Communicate effectively with employees, peers and managers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional peers and leaders to deliver projects
  • Improve engineering quality and efficiency (e.g. improve workflow, code review, etc.)
  • Create reports to give updates on Team health (velocity, efficiency and predictability)
  • Effectively communicate instructions while leading the team to meet their goals.
  • Keep track of budget, employees and schedule commitments.
  • Evaluate information carefully to solve complex problems.
  • Understanding of complex systems


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Great analytical and math skills
  • Incredible problem solving abilities
  • Ability to collaborate with many other teams
  • Ability to create a set of qualifications for a new product
  • MBA or Master's in engineering preferred
  • Interpersonal skills to manage a distributed team of engineers
  • Ability to give and receive candid constructive criticism
  • Ability to make decisions quickly

Experience with the following required:

  • ReactJS
  • NodeJS
  • Webpack
  • Front-end app deployment
  • Development of large-scale application software

Other Skills

  • Experience with SSR (Server Side Rendering), ex NextJS or Gatsby
  • Experience with performance testing, ex Lighthouse
  • AWS, Vercel

The compensation range for this role is $140k-175k annually, salary commensurate with experience.
